Your runs, in the AI
you already use.

Add PTrace as a connector in Claude, ChatGPT or another AI service. Nothing is shared until you’ve chosen what it can see.

  1. Turn on sync.

In the PTrace app, sign in with Apple and turn on sync. Your AI reads the synced copy, so your phone doesn’t need to be nearby.

  2. Add PTrace as a connector.

Pick your AI service to see exactly where to click. It takes about a minute.

    Add PTrace to Claude

Works on every Claude plan. Free accounts can add one custom connector.

    1. Open claude.ai in a browser, or the Claude desktop app. Once added, PTrace works in the phone app too.
    2. In the sidebar, open Customize, then Connectors.
    3. Click +, then Add custom connector.
    4. Leave the advanced settings empty and paste this as the remote MCP server URL: https://ptrace.ai/mcp
    5. Click Add, then Connect on the new PTrace connector. A PTrace window opens; the next step covers it.
    6. In a chat, click + in the lower left, then Connectors, and check that PTrace is on.
    7. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds PTrace first under Organization settings, then Connectors: Add, then Custom, then Web. After that you’ll find it under Customize, then Connectors, with a Connect button.

Menus move now and then. If yours looks different, Claude’s own guide(opens in a new tab) has the latest.

    Add PTrace to ChatGPT

Needs ChatGPT’s developer mode, which depends on your plan and workspace.

    1. Open chatgpt.com in a browser and sign in.
    2. Open Settings, select Security and login, and turn on Developer mode. ChatGPT only allows your own connectors with it on.
    3. Go to Plugins (chatgpt.com/plugins) and select the + button.
    4. Enter PTrace as the name and a short description, such as “My runs and training”.
    5. Under Connection, paste this as the MCP server URL: https://ptrace.ai/mcp
    6. Create the connection. A PTrace window opens; the next step covers it.
    7. In a new chat, add PTrace from the tools menu under the message box.
    8. If you can’t find Developer mode, your plan or workspace doesn’t allow it. In a company workspace, an admin has to turn it on.

Menus move now and then. If yours looks different, ChatGPT’s own guide(opens in a new tab) has the latest.

    Add PTrace to Perplexity

Needs a paid Perplexity plan: Pro, Max or Enterprise.

    1. Open perplexity.ai in a browser and sign in.
    2. Open your account settings and click Connectors.
    3. Click + Custom connector in the top right corner, then select Remote.
    4. Name it PTrace, set authentication to OAuth with the client ID and secret left empty, and paste this as the MCP server URL: https://ptrace.ai/mcp
    5. Tick I understand custom connectors can introduce risks and click Add.
    6. Click the new PTrace card to sign in. A PTrace window opens; the next step covers it.
    7. In a new thread, turn on PTrace among the connectors under the question box.
    8. In an Enterprise organization, an admin first has to turn on Allow members to add custom connectors.

Menus move now and then. If yours looks different, Perplexity’s own guide(opens in a new tab) has the latest.

    Add PTrace to Mistral

Works on every Mistral plan, including Free.

    1. Open chat.mistral.ai in a browser and sign in. Mistral’s assistant is now called Vibe; it used to be Le Chat.
    2. Open the Connectors page from the sidebar.
    3. Click + Add Connector and switch to the Custom MCP Connector tab.
    4. Type ptrace as the connector name (no spaces or special characters) and paste this as the server URL: https://ptrace.ai/mcp
    5. Click Connect. Mistral works out the sign-in on its own and opens a PTrace window; the next step covers it.
    6. In a chat, click + or type /, select Tools, and turn on PTrace.
    7. In a shared organization, only an administrator can add connectors. On a Free, Pro or Student account, that’s you.

Menus move now and then. If yours looks different, Mistral’s own guide(opens in a new tab) has the latest.

  3. Choose what it can access.

Your AI service opens a PTrace window. Sign in with the same Apple account and choose what your AI can read and create. Blood glucose is off unless you turn it on.

Each level includes the ones above it. You can start low and raise it later.

  4. Ask about your training.

That’s it. Copy one of these to start, then make it yours.

    • Write a short report of my running this week: distance, time, how it compares with my last four weeks, and one thing to watch.

      Needs Summaries
    • Review my last four weeks. Am I running my easy runs easy enough? Use my heart-rate zones and tell me what to change next week.

    • Find the route I run most often. How have my pace and heart rate on it changed this year? Am I getting fitter?

    • Create a widget in PTrace showing my weekly distance and a four-week average.

If your AI loses access.

Some AI services can’t renew their access on their own. If yours says PTrace is disconnected, connect it again in that service.

If it says it needs more access, change its permissions on your Connections page. The change applies right away, with no need to reconnect.
